Paul Zia Memorial Lecture

The 25th annual Paul Zia Memorial Lecture is nearly here! This year, presenters will examine the Olympic Pier Extension, a $91 million project that modernized a naval base in Silverdale, Washington.
Industry professionals from WSP USA and Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) will discuss the innovative engineering solutions used to address seismic risk, including soil liquefaction, extreme environmental exposure and a tidal range exceeding 20 feet.
This annual lecture honors Professor Emeritus Dr. Paul Zia, former professor and department head for NC State’s Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering and a structural engineer who was eminent in research, professional society leadership and practice.
The lecture is presented entirely free of charge. Register here.
