PhD Student, Chad Goodnight, Wins Award for Bridge Engineering Paper

Chad Goodnight, a CCEE PhD candidate who will graduate in Spring 2015, received the Nevada Medal for Distinguished Graduate Student Paper in Bridge Engineering for his publication titled “Strain Limits for RC Circular Bridge Columns”. Only one of these prestigious awards are given per year, with selection decided by an international committee composed of bridge engineering researchers and designers. Chad was advised on this project by Dr. Mervyn Kowalsky and Dr. Jim Nau.
