NC State University and the College of Engineering will celebrate the opening of Fitts Woolard Hall on Friday, October 29, 2021, at 1 p.m. with a dedication event and tours. 

Fitts-Woolard Hall is the College of Engineering’s newest building on NC State’s innovative Centennial Campus and is the new home of the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering; the Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering; and the dean’s administrative offices. 

The dedication program will celebrate the more than 300 engineering alumni who have donated to support construction of the building, which opened in August 2020. The program will take place on the building’s Futrell Plaza along Partners Way and across from James B. Hunt Jr. Library. Self-guided tours and a dessert reception will follow. 

Parking will be available in the Oval West Deck at 914 Partners Way. No registration is required for the dedication event. 

The ceremony is part of Red and White Week, Oct. 24-30. More than a traditional homecoming, it’s a week that captures everything our students, faculty members, staff members, alumni and friends hold dear about NC State.
