CCEE’s Amy Alexander nominated for the NC State College of Engineering Award for Excellence

CCEE University Program Specialist/External Relations and Operations Manager Amy Alexander was nominated for a 2024 NC State College of Engineering Award for Excellence in the Human Relations category. 

The Awards for Excellence are the most prestigious honor bestowed upon non-faculty employees, according to the College of Engineering. The awards recognize the outstanding accomplishments and contributions of individual employees, above and beyond an employee’s daily job responsibilities.

Alexander was among 21 employees who received nominations. The ceremony featured recognition and plaques presented by College of Engineering Dean Jim Pfaendtner and Associate Dean Jerome Lavelle. Alexander was recognized for her contributions toward enhancing the quality and morale of the workplace and the public image of CCEE.

“Amy is well-known in the department, Fitts-Woolard Hall and around the college for her amazing efforts,” Pfaendtner said. “She shoulders external relations responsibilities far beyond typical executive assistant duties.”

Pfaendtner noted the large role Alexander plays in coordinating CCEE’s career fair, hosting 171 employee booths and generating more than $110,000 in net revenue, and helping organize the annual lecture in honor of the late Dr. Paul Zia, drawing hundreds of participants and generating $225,000 in revenue. 

“Amy is also instrumental in staffing the CCEE Industry Advisory Board, facilitating effective communication, and securing funding from industry partners. She’s also demonstrated a lifelong commitment to community service through volunteer work at Meals on Wheels, Interfaith Food Shuttle, youth mission trips, and other projects.”
