Dr. Detlef Knappe’s research regarding contaminants in drinking water featured in Wilmington Star News

According to Dr. Detlef Knappe, CCEE professor and researcher, approximately 250,000 people in three eastern North Carolina counties are affected by a toxic chemical known as GenX. The contaminating compound is released into the Cape Fear River at an industrial site about 100 miles upstream from Wilmington, NC.
