Ben Burgess, construction engineering and management ‘06, will be talking with Helene Lollis, chair of the NC State Engineering Foundation College Alumni and Engagement Committee and President and CEO of Pathbuilders, about his experiences starting and leading his own civil contracting firm. The event will be May 23 at 5 p.m. on Zoom.

Burgess is president and CEO of Burgess Civil, LLC, which he founded in 2014 in Tampa, Fla. Since then, he has grown the company to over $40 million in annual revenue. Burgess Civil, LLC was cited as one of the fastest-growing companies in Florida 2016-20, and it was named one of the best places to work by the Tampa Bay Times. Burgess has an MBA from the University of Florida. Despite moving away from North Carolina, he remains a die-hard Wolfpack fan.
