Link: https://app.careerfairplus.com/ncsu_nc/fair/4098

Our February virtual career fair is your best opportunity to find an internship, find a job and network with local employers!

Steps for Success at the Spring Career Fairs

Step 1: Register for both upcoming career fairs.

  1. College of Engineering Virtual Career Fair: Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022 from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

Registration open; book appointments with recruiters beginning Friday, Jan. 21 at 8 a.m.

  1. CCEE Virtual Career Fair: Thursday, Feb. 10 from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

Registration open; book appointments with recruiters beginning Jan. 28 at 5 p.m.

*Tip!*: You MUST register ahead of time to create an account and sign up for slots to speak with employers. The benefit? No waiting in line to talk with your top choices! Book early to get the time you want!

Step 2: Build your profile in CareerFairPlus and upload your resume.

Create a profile in the virtual career fair platform, CareerFairPlus, and upload your resume for employers to view.

*Tip!*: Need help making a resume that shines? Attend “Creating stellar resumes” with Dr. Kittle Autry on Friday, Jan. 21 from 10-11 a.m. via Zoom

Step 3: Research employers.

The secret to success at the career fair is to research ahead of time who is coming, what openings they have and carefully select what companies you want to talk with. Read more about being prepared for career fairs.

Step 4: Sign up for times to meet with companies.

Once you’ve created your profile in CareerFairPlus and the windows open, you can register for specific times to speak with recruiters from companies. You can sign up for times for the College of Engineering Career Fair starting on Friday, Jan. 21 at 8 a.m., and for the CCEE Career Fair starting Jan. 28 at 5 p.m. When you sign up for a slot, employers will automatically get to see your resume and contact information through your profile in CareerFairPlus.

*Tip!*: You must sign up at least one day in advance for a time slot to speak to a company rep, but the best time slots go fast, so schedule with the companies you want sooner rather than later.

Step 5: Prepare for the fair by attending the CCEE Career Fair Bootcamp or getting help from the Career Development Center.

Attend an online webinar hosted by Dr. KA, “Preparing for the Career Fair” on Tuesday, Jan. 25 at 3:30 p.m. via Zoom (Click to join). Both undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to attend.

Ms. Glenda Darrell, engineering career counselor, is hosting sessions for students seeking help preparing for the Career Fair on Thursday, Jan. 27 and Friday, Jan. 28 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sign up for a timeslot here

Step 6: Attend the career fairs!

Be sure to have a strong internet connection the day of the fair. Log in to the CareerFairPlus website to check your schedule and enter your meeting rooms with employers at the designated times.

Final words of advice:

  • This is the premier opportunity for students seeking summer internships to find one. Don’t miss this chance!
  • For more help preparing for the career fairs, listen to this super helpful podcast with Career Development Center staff member Dr. Kelly Laraway.
  • If you sign up for a time slot to speak with a company rep — whatever you do, do not ghost them. They will have your name from your resume, so you want to be professional and attend every meeting you schedule. If you become sick and can no longer attend, you must cancel in the app at least one day ahead and give a reason. This gives other students a chance to take your time slot.
