The 21st Annual Paul Zia Distinguished Lecture, “Design & Construction of the Rainer Square Redevelopment Project,” will be presented this year, on September 19, 2022. The lecture is made possible by our many sponsors, which will be updated soon for the 2022 lecture.

This annual lecture honors Professor Emeritus Dr. Paul Zia, former professor and department head of NC State’s Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering, and a structural engineer who is eminent in research, professional society leadership and practice.

This year’s presenters will be Ron Klemencic, PE, SE, Hon AIA, from Magnusson Klemencic Associates and Dr. Amit Varma, a Karl H. Kettelhut Professor of CE and the Director of the Bowen Lab of Large-Scale CE Research at Purdue University.

This free hybrid event will take place on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 3PM at the Talley Student Union’s Stewart Theatre on the main campus of NC State University. An interactive live-streaming venue will also be available. Specific details, including parking information will be made available in August. Registration will open in August for in-person and virtual attendance.

A cocktail reception will be held immediately following the event for all attendees.

Engineers will receive two PDHs for attending.
