CCEE earns high marks for online Master of Civil Engineering program

CCEE’s online Master of Civil Engineering program ranked No. 6 in the country on U.S. News & World Report’s 2023 Best Online Master’s in Civil Engineering Programs list. For the 2023 Best Online Programs rankings, the consumer media organization evaluated 1,833 and ranked 1,730 online bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, the most in the ranking’s history. The ranking methodologies are based on factors such as student engagement, faculty credentials, and student services and technology, according to U.S. News & World Report.

“NC State University has a 40 year history of providing distance education programs to professional engineers. Much has changed during these years in terms of delivery of courses and degree programs available. What has not changed is the quality and integrity of the engineering programs offered. There is no difference in the courses offered or the degree in terms of course and degree requirements, and no on-campus attendance is required. Students can complete a degree while working full time.”

CCEE’s Master of Civil Engineering (MCE) degree can be completed through Engineering Online. It is intended for graduate students who are interested in studies to prepare for professional careers in civil engineering. The department offers a parallel degree in environmental engineering.  With numerous courses available each semester, CCEE’s distance education students can customize their degrees to support their area of professional interest. The online degree requires the completion of 10 courses, which some students complete in as little as two years, though three to four years is more typical given their other responsibilities.
