\nEngineering at North Carolina State University. His expertise is in the behavior, modeling and
\nexperimental investigation of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures, with particular emphasis on
\nthe shear and torsion response of members.<\/p>\n
\nunder a joint placement agreement with the Istituto Universitario di Studi Superiori di Pavia, Italy. He
\nalso holds an M.A.Sc. and a B.A.Sc. in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto. Dr. Proestos
\nhas also been involved in several high-profile consulting activities providing expertise in specialized
\nsituations, as a part of litigation and dispute resolutions and in the forensic investigation of structures.<\/p>\n
\nexperimental testing of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures, the development of practical tools
\nfor the assessment of concrete structures, the development of design procedures and the development of
\nnew constitutive models and modeling techniques. His experimental research has been used to inform the
\ndevelopment of simplified tools that can be used to rapidly model the full three-dimensional nonlinear
\nresponse of entire, or large portions of, structures. Dr. Proestos\u2019 has been involved in significant
\nexperimental work pertaining to the design and analysis of Korean nuclear containment structures. For the
\npaper entitled, \u201cInfluence of High-Strength Bars on Shear Response of Containment Walls,\u201d he received
\nthe American Concrete Institute – Chester Paul Siess Award for Excellence in Structural Research. Dr.
